Get Your Child Excited About a Trip to the Zoo

The phrase “we are going to go to the zoo,” is enough to excite most toddlers and preschoolers, but you may be looking for other ways to get your child excited about a family preschool field trip to the zoo.

Before heading off to the zoo, get your child excited about the trip. One easy way to do so is with the use of a computer. There are a number of zoo web cams that you can find online with a standard internet search. What better way to get your child excited about a trip to the zoo than letting them watch live shots of a panda, lion, or tiger?

Another way that you can build up excitement for your child is with the purchase of a zoo themed or animal themed book. In the days leading up to your trip, read the book with your child. Concentrate on the pictures. Discuss each animal with your child. You may be surprised how excited your child is when they see, in person, the animals that they just learned about.
