Preschool Activity: Winter Preschool Science Activities

If you are looking for a fun way to introduce your child to science during the wintertime, you don’t have to look past your backyard (as long as there is snow in it).

If you have snow, there are a number of fun and educational preschool science activities that you can do with your child. One of those preschool science activities involves teaching your child about melting snow.

What you will want to do is collect a small amount of snow and place it in either a cup or a bowl. Bring it inside your house and watch it melt.

A great way to spice up this fun and educational preschool science activity is by collecting multiple bowls or cups of snow. You can bring them inside your home and place them in different areas. For example, place one cup of snow in your freezer, one in the refrigerator, one near a heat source, such as a heater, one by a window, and one in a dark closet. You and your child can track the melting process, as well as guess which ones will melt the quickest.
