Preschool Activity: Playing House

Playing house is a preschool activity that many children enjoy, especially girls. What is nice about enjoying this type of preschool activity is that you and your child have so many options. For this post, we will focus on playing house with stuffed animals or baby dolls.

When my daughter, who is three, plays house, she always uses her baby dolls and a few stuff animals. What she does is play the mother of the house. She will do a wide range of things for her babies, including feed them, pretend to bathe them, change their diapers, put them down for naps, and so forth.

Playing house this way is a nice preschool activity for all children, but it is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who may have a new brother or sister arriving soon. Playing with dolls and other stuffed animals is likely to teach your child how to gently interact with others, especially younger children.
